The Photos Family vs. Insurance Companies, or The Neverending Story

Portrait of the Insured, circa 2005

Dear Dental Source,

I would like to terminate my coverage, effective immediately.

I was told to include the following sentence:

“I have been informed that I am now banned for life from reinstating a policy with you,”

which seems a bit harsh, particularly when you consider that I didn’t so much as get a cleaning. After all, it’s nothing personal, just that my wife was eligible to add me to her group policy for a little less money. I imagine that you would do the same were you in my position.

I wish you the best of luck with your business.

Smiles,

Vatican Forgives John Lennon For Jesus Remark

VATICAN CITY - The Vatican's newspaper has finally forgiven John Lennon for declaring that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, calling the remark a "boast" by a young man grappling with sudden fame.

—Reuters

The announcement marks the 40th anniversary of the release of the White Album.

The two parties had been feuding since 1966, when the comment was made during an interview. The feud was believed to have ended in 1980, because John Lennon died, but that rumor, and the feud, was put to rest today.

The Vatican went on to say, "We realize that our timing is a bit off, but we were just so damn mad. Nobody is more popular than J. Chrizzle, then or now. He [Lennon] overstepped his bounds. We are just pleased to be able to put this behind us once and for all."

As a show of grace, the services tomorrow will conclude with a performance of Helter Skelter.

Moved by the spirit of generosity, Lennon was also granted a pardon by this guy:

Yes We Did

We will return to work today, and life will be much as it was yesterday. This was only a beginning. We have won much already, but the hard part is yet to come. I do not envy our next president and the amount of difficult decisions that lay ahead. It is up to all of us to stay organized and vigilant. I hope we all learned something from the long and difficult test of the campaigns. I hope we are all stronger, and feel more empowered. I think we will need to be.

This morning, though, I can say for the first time in some years that I am proud of us. I am proud of America. I am proud of Barack Obama.
